Ashley is available to have individual discussion sessions with parents of children ages 0-4 and expectant parents. Your mental health matters! Free childcare is provided during the session, and throughout the entire 9AM to 12PM block of time. Feel free to use this as drop in time to work on your own individual pursuits and goals while your little ones are well cared for in our early childhood classrooms!

🌊💜✨ Staff Spotlight: Megan Smith ✨💜🌊

With 16 years of experience in early childhood education, Megan Smith brings both heart and expertise to the field she has dedicated her life to serving. Since beginning her career in 2010, Megan has worked with children from infancy through school age, building a strong foundation in both classroom teaching and early childhood administration.

Megan earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology with a concentration in Child Development from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Early Childhood Education. Her passion for lifelong learning doesn’t stop there - she already has plans to continue on to earn her doctorate in the field!

A fun full-circle moment: Megan first entered the early childhood field working alongside Jocelyn many years ago, and now they’ve found their way back together again at First Wave Familes. 🌊💜

Today, First Wave Families pauses in observance of Memorial Day to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

We also recognize the military families, veterans, and loved ones in our community whose lives have been shaped by service and sacrifice.

As we spend time with our families today, we hold space for remembrance, gratitude, and reflection.

🌊🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet Jocelyn Snelsire 🌟🌊

We’re excited to shine this week’s Staff Spotlight on our incredible Director, Jocelyn Snelsire!

Jocelyn brings a wealth of knowledge and heart to First Wave Families. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development & Family Studies, with a concentration in Infant and Early Childhood, from Penn State University. Her passion for supporting children and families has been the foundation of her career from the very beginning.

She spent two years working with KinderCare Learning Centers in Pittsburgh before making the move to the shore in 2002. Jocelyn then dedicated an amazing 20 years to Little Lambs Learning Center, where she made a lasting impact on countless children and families.

Since joining First Wave Families at its very beginning in 2023, Jocelyn has been a guiding force in shaping our mission and supporting the families we serve every day.

Her experience, leadership, and genuine passion for early childhood development make her an invaluable leader of our team 🌊💜

She spent two years working with KinderCare Learning Centers in Pittsburgh before making the move to the shore in 2002. Jocelyn then dedicated an amazing 20 years to Little Lambs Learning Center, where she made a lasting impact on countless children and families.

Since joining First Wave Families at its very beginning in 2023, Jocelyn has been a guiding force in shaping our mission and supporting the families we serve every day.

Her experience, leadership, and genuine passion for early childhood development make her an invaluable leader of our team 🌊💜

Join us from 2-4 PM on Tuesday, May 5 at the Pocomoke Health Department, Wednesday, May 13 at the Snow Hill CBH Building, and Wednesday, May 20 at the Bay Terrace Apartments in Berlin. Featuring one-stop assistance for outreach and education about reproductive health, MCHP insurance, immunizations, health department prevention programs, the Worcester County Dental Center, early childhood resources, school readiness, public school registration, parenting resources, and giveaways of diapers, wipes, formula, and more!
